OUR STORY & MISSION
At Emerging Adulthood Consulting, our mission is to empower neurodivergent teens and young adults with the tools, confidence, and support needed to transition into independence with clarity, resilience, and self-trust.
But before Emerging Adulthood Consulting became a business, it was a realization.
A realization that many young adults were leaving high school academically supported — yet still feeling overwhelmed by the realities of adulthood.
Hi, I’m Nicole Rolon-Caro — founder of Emerging Adulthood Consulting.
For over a decade, I worked in special education settings supporting students with Autism, ADHD, executive functioning challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and learning differences. Throughout those years, I saw incredible young people with endless potential struggle with the parts of life no one had truly prepared them for:
managing routines, handling overwhelm, building confidence, communicating effectively, navigating relationships, and learning how to function independently in the real world.
At the same time, I saw families carrying the emotional weight of trying to support their child while feeling unsure of what came next.
I began realizing there was a major gap between school support, therapy, and everyday adulthood.
And that gap is where Emerging Adulthood Consulting was born.
What started as a vision slowly became something much bigger than I ever expected — a place where young adults and families could receive practical guidance, compassionate support, and individualized strategies designed for real life, not just the classroom.
My journey began in 2013 as a paraprofessional in a secondary life skills classroom before becoming a certified special education teacher. Over the years, I worked across multiple educational settings and eventually specialized in behavior intervention, executive functioning support, and transition-focused services for secondary students.
But the deeper I got into the work, the more I realized something important:
Many young adults do not struggle because they lack intelligence.
They struggle because they lack support systems, opportunities to practice independence safely, and environments that truly understand how they learn and function.
That realization changed the direction of my career.
In 2022, I began focusing more intentionally on emerging adulthood, executive functioning coaching, social development, and life transition support. By the end of 2025, I made the decision to fully step away from traditional education and dedicate myself entirely to building Emerging Adulthood Consulting.
Today, EAC continues to grow into a collaborative space supporting not only young adults, but also the families, educators, and communities walking alongside them. Through individualized coaching, social skills groups, workshops, transition planning, parent support, and community events, our mission remains the same:
To help people feel less alone while building meaningful, sustainable independence.
A huge part of this mission is rooted in my father’s legacy.
Before he passed, one of the questions he constantly asked was:
“What am I doing today to make a better tomorrow?”
That mindset became part of the foundation of Emerging Adulthood Consulting.
The dragonfly in our logo symbolizes transformation, resilience, hope, and growth — not becoming someone entirely different, but growing into who you were always meant to be.
This work is deeply personal to me.
Because Emerging Adulthood Consulting was never built simply to provide services.
It was built to create the kind of support many families wish existed sooner.
Legacy in Progress.
